Welcome 'SKYLORDS'! Indian C-17s Get New Squadron Tomorrow
The Indian Air Force will formally induct its
first three C-17 Globemaster III heavy transports at the Hindon air force base
tomorrow morning. The new squadron has been numbered and named 81 Squadron
'Skylords'. The squadron number is likely to have been chosen to mark the
IAF's 81st year.
According to a colleague on the defence beat,
the new squadron's motto runs: Saksham, Balam, Sarvatram. That's Sanskrit
for 'Capable, Powerful, Omnipresent'.
Congratulations, godspeed and happy landings to
the IAF, the Skylords and all those involved with C-17 operations!
